Difference between Allegra and Zyrtec:
Both of these medications work in a similar manner as antihistamines. However, Zyrtec has clear labeling on the packaging warning patients to be wary when driving or operating machinery as well as warning them to avoid consuming alcohol when using this drug. Allegra rarely causes drowsiness and generally is not amplified by the consumption of alcoholic beverages.

This drug is an antihistamine. It works by targeting and disabling the histamines that are released by the body when the immune system reacts to allergens. It has been clinically proven to be both effective and safe to use.
What are Allegra’ Side Effects?
There are some side effects that may occur when you are taking this prescription drug, they include:
- Headache
- Cold
- Backache
- Nausea
- Coughing
- Dizziness
- Drowsiness
- Menstrual Pain
- Flu-like symptoms
- Diarrhea
- In rare cases, a serious allergic reaction can occur which may involve the following symptoms: swelling of throat, lips mouth or tongue; or hives—if you experience any of these rare yet serious side effects, STOP taking Allegra and seek immediate medical assistance
Allegra Precautions:
It is very important that you let your doctor know about any and EVERY single drug you are currently taking in order to avoid any drug interactions from occurring. Women who are pregnant or nursing should first inform their doctor of this prior to using Allegra. Avoid taking common anti-acids such as Rolaids, Maalox, Mylanta, Milk of Magnesia, or Pepcid Complete prior to, or up to an hour after using this drug, as they may limit how well it works in your system. Ask your doctor if Allegra is the right drug for you.
