Metrogel (metronidazole topical) is a powerful topical antibacterial gel which is used to treat patients who are currently suffering from chronic acne, rosacea or acne rosacea.
Rosacea is a skin disease which most often occurs in fair-skinned adults in between the ages of 30-50+. It is caused by the red blood cells in the surface of the face dilating and rising to the surface as thin, red lines. It is often accompanied by lesions or acne similar to teenage acne.
Most often Rosacea appears as red lines on the face, flushing or reddening of the face and or lesions and acne that can surface in the affected areas.
Only take Metrogel as directed to by your doctor. Make sure that you wash the affected area and dry it before applying this topical gel. Most often it will be prescribed to be applied two times per day, once in the morning and once at night. If you miss an application apply it as soon as you can.
Metrogel attacks and kills acne-causing bacteria in the pores. It works to treat the symptoms of rosacea by reducing the inflammation in the skin and killing the bacteria which causes lesions and acne rosacea.
There are some side effects which could occur when using this topical gel, they include the following:
